Brandon

Crinkled candy wrappers filling the trashcan,

I turn to my right and gaze at your caramel skin.

Headphones on, you furiously play your favorite video game

Which over time causes my eyes to drift away.

A chubby tabby snuggles between us,

Her purrs rhythmic and soothing to the soul.

I brush my hand across your warm chest

As you softly scratch my scalp.

Your deep brown eyes remind me

Of all the times we sat together, crying,

Trying to figure out where life would take us next.

We found each other,

Without even realizing we were so lost.

We argue over silly spills

Turning turned-over glasses into fierce tsunamis

Yet you're still my lifeboat.

Without you,

I think I'd be lost all over again.

I'll go through those fights all over again,

Because I love you.
