I was building my confidence Laying concrete and stone You kept throwing mortars Hoping to shatter me with your blows You pointed out my imperfections Trying to label them as flaws For years I saw it that way Making myself the cause I finally see my value See my own worth I'm an overdue open book from the library That you couldn't read due to your illiteracy
