The Brave Heart

I look at him, and see the pain he hides. They see a strong man, a mighty lion, while all I see is a frightened lamb. He laughs, a joyous laugh, but many do not know the burden he's holding. I've seen him cry, the rarest thing of all. I gently move next to him, and say, everything happens for a reason. He picks me up, he cradles me. I feel his gentle kiss brush my forehead.  He says, "I know", tears gently rushing like a silent waterfall.
