Bravery

Death comes slowly for the panicked

And quickly for the brave

Closing around a nervous heart,

Like Ice enclosing flame.

But loud as crashing thunder,

Or a roaring ocean wave.

It cannot be ignored

Nor will it go away.

So stow away your fears

Turn your back to the cold,

Press on into the unknown dark

And dance among the bold
