Bravery

We once lifted our souls and told stories with no lies.

Our children danced along the currents where we once swayed.

They would laugh and sing songs and never felt strayed

We reminisce on a time where only love would rise

But times are changing and sadly love isn't too wise

Nowadays we run from it because we thought only hate stayed.

Hatred is ruining our stories leading us to be afraid.

We only hope to find love without the burden of hatred ties.

One day maybe the children’s will not run nor cower

Maybe they will face what we felt we shouldn't

The children might be our chance to remember loves power

If hatred should fail then we believe that love wouldn't

Our children can be the reason perseverance will tower

They can restore faith in love when we knew we couldn't
