"The Break Up"

When you say you want to "break up" What exactly do you mean by "break"? Do you mean break like separate? Is this break forever or temporary? You wanna break from talking to me, like Is it okay if I call you to ask, "How are you"? Or do you really want to cut off all forms of communication, so you can retake your space? I want you and I thought you wanted me But from the sound of you lately, your tired And worst off you sound unhappy, so maybe it's best we take a break So you can discover what makes you happy then you can be happy with me But I thought I made you happy? I thought all you needed was me Guess I was thinking selfish Either way, regardless, do you think of me still? Like am I the first thing on your mind when you wake up? And do you battle with the urge to call me at night when you lie in bed? I know that's how I think of you I am always thinking about you That's how much I think I think you still love me, or at least I hope you do I hope this break up isn't IT And you were speaking of moving on forever I didn't think our time was up You told me 'Til death do us part' You said I had a lifetime warranty Does that still apply? Even though you're hurt and confused as to how to regain your life or restart it Out of both of us, I think I got hurt the most though I couldn't put aside the concept of me and you Maybe it got crumbled up with the me I thought this was so good for me I neglected that maybe you needed you Now I get it, but that still doesn't take away the fact I'm lonely And I miss you I don't ever wanna be like Nas saying, Bye Baby So I hope this break up is as temporary for you as I try to perceive it Cause regardless of the hurt I committed myself And that's something that even you can't take away cause you taught me all about it So get over your heartbreak and commit
