Break the Day

To ask why we still fight, my friend Is like asking why the sun must rise And as every day it lights the skies Our words will carry to the end. They said my pen could break the sword But little did I read past their eyes To see that they willed only their lies And not the soul I wished for Word. Enough, said Shakespeare, and I laughed with glee To see that all down the halls of time The poets of light all played my rhyme I guess it was always bigger than me.
