Break Free
Deep in my heart, I know who I am.
So why does the world seem to take that away?
Everyday deeper and farther,
the path to my heart becomes.
My love of beauty,
of soft falling rain,
of green fields and summer days.
My fear of the unknown, death, and pain.
My trials and triumphs are all whisked away.
Where?
No one knows.
And the world loses color.
It becomes dark and gray.
The passions and purposes of beautiful souls are lost.
We become lifeless, no longer really living.
Supressed by the chains of society,
buying the lie that we are not enough.
But beauty has a way of appearing at the most desperate times.
And souls cannot be contained forever.
And one day, just maybe, we will all break free.
