Break Our Spirit

Searching for a cure

Longing for a way to heal

Even though there is none

For we live in an illusion

That we are all doomed to live a life of hell

The torture we endured adds to nothing yet everything all at once

And all at once we can be set free

The moment we let ourselves be drawn into happiness

To be drawn into the warmth of the light and innocence

The moment we acknowledge that we are not who is to be held to blame

For we were innocent and taken advantage of

For we are the strong that endured hell

We made it through the otherside unscathed

With the scars on our hearts and the memories to remind us

That we are the true survivors

We are warriors who fight back for our innocence

We fight to protect

We fought to live

We fought to survive

Now nothing can break our spirit
