Breakfast Daze

Dear Lover,

Heart tingling, with stomach filled with butterflies

That’s how I feel whenever I see you.

Because I love you, I never wanted to let you go

Because I love you, I never spoke on our bad moments

Because I love you, I was too blind to the disheartening pain that shivered down my body.

Dear Lover,

Black coffee and unbuttered toast,

You remind me of those things.

With my coffee sweetened with cream and my stomach filled with warm

buttery toast, I follow the steps of my normal routine and proceed to have a successful day.

I am content with the way I’m living.

But the days where the cream is empty and the butter is gone are the days I faced reality.

The outcome of my emotional distress should not be dependent on these things.

You were one of those things.

Dear Lover,

Days go by and my heart is still tingling

But now my patience is low, and I don’t feel like hiding

My superstition has died, and my confidence has arised.

I know my worth, I know what I deserve.

Dear Lover,

Because I love you, I learn to love myself.
