Breaking the Barrier
It was dark, and it was cold.
The temperature seemed to drop several degrees
with each step farther into the shadow of the looming building.
The ground was covered with frost
Fog hung like little clouds in the air around me.
I continued on with my journey, step, by step, by step.
Alas! I broke thought the shadow barrier
and was greeted by the warm rays of sunshine
that were flooding down to kiss the cold, hard earth.
