Breaking Free

All my life

I was dictated to.

Told what I could accomplish,

And what I could do with my life,

Based only on the skin I was born in.

I knew they were wrong.

I knew I could do anything.

And I proved it.

I soared above their expectations and my own

And conquered the blockades in the way of my future.

Now, I'm on my way.

On my way to something so much better than I've ever dreamed.

Not letting anything hold me back.

Knowing that I have the strength I need to face every challenge

And break free from every restraint they may try to put on me.
