Breaking Out

The mirror is not kind, Instead of showing me what I am, It shows me what I need to be, I need to be someone else, I need to be skinnier, I need to be prettier, I need to be, That is all I think about, Not what I am, Not how strong I am, Not how brave I am, All that is seen is a layer, Not a core, not an essence, This layer is a barrier, a barrier needed to be broken, Broken to let the inside out to see the world, And to show the world what I really am,
