The Breaking Point
Abuse is what she had to live with her whole life,
But who would have thought she was walking on the knife.
She thought she could get away from it all,
Never had the chance to experience how beautiful
This life could really be if she only tried harder instead of trying to survive the fall.
Waking up in the morning was painful,
Trying to forget the things that happened the night before.
Never wanting to go home because of that person,
Ready to strike at any second with his toxin.
Crying is all she has left inside her,
Even though her life seems to go by in a blur.
Just when she thought she was ready to give up,
Someone came with a heart so bright,
It made her world start to look like the star lights.
During the night she would stir,
But when he’s there he protects her.
All she needed was courage and that’s what he gave.
One night the person came,
And saw what was happening and set a flame.
The person started to blame,
And asked for his name.
But what they didn’t know was he had a surprise,
That could lead her love to his demise.
She begged and pleaded for the person to let him go,
He didn’t budge, not even toe.
What came next was all a blur.
When she woke up, she saw her love dead without her.
Her cries were heard all over town,
She cried until sundown.
Her breaking point finally broke,
With rage still inside,
She took the knife,
And took the person into his own demise.
Five years have passed, and she’s free and gone,
Waiting until she is withdrawn to be with her love until dawn.
