Breakup Letter to Me

I’m sorry it had to end this way. It’s not you, it’s me. If it was one thing than that’d be different but it was more than three. Our fabled relationship belongs in the past. Though we wish we could keep it, it’s time to go back. You lied when you said you loved me as our friends so often do, but why did you say you loved me if you knew it wasn’t true. I’m sorry I wasn’t enough. This is not because I didn’t love you no it’s not cause I didn’t love you, but how am I to love you if you won’t let me love you? Maybe I could make you stay if I begged or if I changed, but we both know it’s over now so there’s nothing else to say. Goodbye you wandering stranger, I hope you find your way and maybe if I’m searching, I’ll find your soul someday. Til then my weary traveler, good luck on every road although we’re not together I’ll share your heavy load. And to everyone who hurt you, try your best to prove them wrong, but even when it all falls down, remember our first song. My war with you is over, it’s time to end this fight. All that’s left for me to say is goodbye and then good night.
