Breath

Thoughts swirling through my mind

establishing a sense of fear

my soul spins in and out of space and time

wondering if you will apear

Trying to escape

I run and hide

I close my eyes

cover my ears

and get lost in the lines

Speaking poetry in my head

trying to calm down

hyperventalation comes instead

Heartbeat quickens

thoughts become loud

it will be ok they said

as i frantically look around

I attempt to recite

and forget my pain

for in those lines

comes a sense of comfort

only rhymes can provide
