Breath
Take a breath,
No one can hurt you here.
Close your eyes,
And worry about nothing.
My heart beats in my chest,
My breath in my ears,
The start of an anxiety attack.
I want to cry,
I want to cry out.
No one would understand,
They couldn't know,
Of the fear wracking through me.
But this song is for everyone,
Everyone could understand this song,
If they just open their ears,
For someone you don't even know,
Could you listen to this broken voice?
This voice that is feeble,
Which cracks and breaks,
But still holds strong.
Can you hear it?
I sing of a hopeful future,
Where I will no longer have this fear.
