Breath

Sun, 03/17/2019 - 20:38 -- ENScott

Thorns

Gnarled, razor fingers expand from my core

twist around my beating hart and stone filled lungs

Tighten,

    Twist

           Tear

oh inky blossoms don't bloom where you see no sun

please, don't fill my airway that no more wind fall

         Don't invite the storm

the waves crashing, crushing, tossing me about mountain high waves against your void petals

so much worse than shattered glass or cliff faces

for into them I fall into seas anew.

    Breathe

I have to

Open the skies and let in peace

one.

    breath.

        At a time.

Rushes in and thorns writhe in agony

Tumultuous sea tames to sweet ripples.

after the wind slows.

once at last... I pause

I breathe
