A Breath of Fresh Air
I open the door as the bold frosty air lightly caresses my face
I take a first step as my heel says Good Morning to the Earth
I wallow in the first adolescent rays of the sun and sky
My body embracing the refreshing misty chill
As the early spring dew glistens on the lush green of the forest
I finally commence on the voyage to my grandmothers
My path is long and narrow but I mustn't stray
The forceful river in all of it's beauty
The luscious mighty trees swaying before the commanding winds
The elegant butterfly whose wings flutter with great fervor
The mighty wolf striding with glorious prestige
Every step makes my body tremble with pure bliss
As I consume the pure charm of nature
The alluring bouquet of stunning flowers seizes all my senses
The aroma sweet
The majestic hue
The soft glistening flowers that captures my gaze
My body cannot ignore this fierce enchantment that has been cast upon me
As I take a sheepish step toward the bewildering beauty
My wary sight sharply averts to the wolf
No longer is the wolf's gaze noble
But fierce eyes that bore into my soul
My gentle eyes now brimming with distraught
My mind inflamed with fear
My body heavy as lead
I try to speak but all I can muster are 3 merciful last word...
“I’m sorry Grandma”
As I take in my last breath I can only be grateful,
Grateful that my last breath was a breath of fresh air.
Be wary of all things pleasant to the body, for they are often disastrous to the soul.
