Breathe

Breathe

By: Anyia Jones

I want to love you but not if you can’t let me live

I want to breathe without feeling you breathe down my neck

Our hearts basically beat at the same rate

I need a break

I really want you to stay but not if I have to pay in my freedom

I want us to go out and be happy

But you can’t make me choose you or my friends

You both make me happy

Why can’t I have you both

I’m not your puppet on strings

I don’t even

I’m not Pinocchio I’m already real

But this isn’t real love

This is more synthetic than a mathematic division

We don’t have to see each other everyday

I don’t want to be afraid to see you

I want to be happy to see your face

To be able to smile and mean it

 I want to feel free

Let me be free

not the puppet on the strings

I’ll cut my strings
