Breathe
You sit there and say wow
This hurts
All the love in the world just smashed your heart into the tiniest pieces
When you close your eyes you see dreams that you wish you had
When you breathe you feel the hollow pain in your chest
Breathe,
That's what you tell your self
Don't think about it and it'll go away you say
Breathe
You sit there staring out your window
Fighting back every tear
Every memory
Then just one pops into your head
That one year slid down your cheek
Breathe
One memory then another
Like the tears the run down your face
It's ok you'll say
It'll be better in time
Which is true but how much time
You sit there wishing for them to return
Breathe
You cry so much that your body does it automatically when you even start the idea of this person.
Breathe
See what you don't understand is that I try to breathe I try to see
But when I breathe
All I can think about is the way you smelt
Then from the smell to your body
Your body to your eyes
How they always were so gentle and they were always so kind
From your eyes to your mind because you always thought out side the box and were always so pure and understanding
From your mind to your heart cause we were convinced that it was big enough to fix the world
From your heart to your mouth..
When you said those hurtful words
The last words you said to me
Breathe
From the words to the pain I now feel
Lost, empty, hollowed, pain
Like all the the fairytales you were told as a child were just there to mock you
Breathe
You scream to try to let go of the pain that keeps you held captive
Breathe
But here we are now wind blowing and nights cold
I see my breath in the cold and I'm aware that I'm alive
But my heart it hurts
When you said goodbye
Breathe
