Breathe

Sweaty palms, frantic eyes searching the tight space

Gut wrenches

Nerves spiral

Thoughts consume

I can’t get out!

The room smaller,smaller

Tighter, tighter

Hotter,hotter

Heart races

Mind paces

Body braces

For death’s press

How can I escape?

Breathe

Breathe

In for three out for three

In for three out for three

Thinking of something nice

A steady campfire illuminates

The gentle heat across my face

Family surrounding me

Laughing and joking

In for three out for three

In for three and out for three

Telling stories from the past

The smiles brighter than the flames

Content and bliss wraps me in warmth

Sweaty palms are no more

My gut eases

My nerves relax

My thoughts lessen

My heart, my brain, and my body tranquilize

The room releases,bigger and bigger

The memory still warming my heart

Breathe
