Breathe.
I'm gasping, and choking, but no one is noting the sound.
I'm here, but I'm invisible no scratch that I am not; you're just choosing to ignore my asphyxiation.
I can't breathe; because when I think about you it's like someone strapped a thousand pound weight to each of my lungs.
But I don't stop to take them off, because that would mean losing every beautiful word to be sung.
It's pretty fucked up when you let yourself be hurt over and over knowing nothing will ever change
but what's more fucked up is wondering why you can't breathe while you lay in our bed writing redundant poetry about the estranged.
It's fucked up when you read the critique that says everything you've worked at isn't enough
You're too plot oriented so you might as well give up, you'll never be enough
I'm not used to this feeling because no one has ever even stepped up to my walls
But it feels like your Jack and you hid a compact delux just to disinegrate them all.
Not so you could reach me, but only to point and stare at this mess you annointed to become me.
I can't breathe because no matter how many words I rhyme or times I try I will NEVER be good enough
I'm just some stupid girl without talent or charm who will NEVER be good enough
I'm heaving and wheezing and fighting but you're not even seeing
what it takes to write this down because you can't comprehend a world where I am feeling.
I'm here! I'm here! but you can't see me convulsing
I just need a little air, but I can't phathom breath
when all I dream is you
when all I see is you
when all I hear is you
when all I am is nothing without you
I can't breathe but if you're happy it's almost wirth the squeezing on my trachea
I'm strangling, and constricting, and gagging, and suppressing
the urge to just wring it up and let it hang be cause maybe then I wouldn't have to feel this stupid pang
because I am gasping, and choking, and drowning in this abyss
I can't breathe because I love you, but you'll never know
That's when I realize I will just have to rearrange these feelings
store them away because maybe then I will relearn how to breathe.
