Breathing
Breathing
It's the easiest thing to do
So basic, your body does it for you
Until it forgets how
Until everything you've been working so hard to keep up comes crashing down
Crushing you, your lungs
And then it's not that you don't remeber how to breathe
Because you do
But your body just won't do it
The air stops at the back of your throat, refusing to go any further
Trying as hard as it can to stay away from your lungs and rush in at the same time
And once you manage to gulp down the air
Someone reaches a hand inside your chest
Grabs your air that you worked so hard for
And tears it out of your chest
