Breathless

I'm alive and well

I have only one breath left

My whole life is ahead of me

I have only one breath left

My heart rapidly increases its beating

I have only one breath left

Every emotion

Every sound

Every resonating feature of my being

Rests in this next breath

I have only one breath left

With these words, life is born

Tears are shed

Heavens gates open up

And all the love inside is released

I have only one breath left

Your eyes pierce mine with the sword of meaning

Life and purpose rest within them

With each blink you take,

my world is thrown into darkness

And with each opening of your eyes

My world explodes in a delightfully disastrous light

I have only one breath left

With a final intake

My chest expands for the last time

Out of my mouth flows the final breath within me

And the entirety of that breath

Is swallowed by your name

With every mention of your name I am left breathless

Your kiss breaths life into me

I have only one breath left
