Breeze

Down, down you let me fall Arms spread wide and smile sprawled, A contented look upon your face As I abruptly lose my grace Others had the chance to save But effort was something never paid So then I spiraled limbs extended To face my fears undefended Ground I hit, pain then spread Recovering feeling in my head My heart beat slowly, no one near Yet my eyes could not shed a single tear While you turn and leave the ledge After pushing me off the jagged edge To live your life with goals now free And spend sweet time with my old company The breeze blows gently through my hair, And lifts the boulders of despair “Get up,” it urges, with sudden plea, “You need nothing now, for you are free!” Free? I wonder, how is this truth? When I have lost the comforts of my youth! But I question no longer and raise full height Deciding to shed this futile spite! Laughter erupts from my chest As I finally lay these plagues to rest For now I wander wherever I please Eternally grateful for that breeze.
