Brian's Poem

I'm your daughter

But not really,

because thirteen years is a long time to go without a father.

I barely remember you

But I know you're a bad guy,

but it feels like half of me is missing.

I won't ever get to know you

Because my life is just too right,

and I can't let you mess everything up.

My family has scars

And without you so do I,

but that doesn't stop us from living our lives.

You took it away

And I won't ever get it back,

I'm a puzzle that will never be quite complete.

So many questions fill my mind

Like the endless tears that fill my eyes,

because I can't help but wonder if I am a mistake in your eyes.

One thing is for sure,

You never loved me.

The question remains,

do I love you?
