Bribery

I am going to get a new scarf tomorrow-
I need to feel like I deserve it.
I must earn it.
I can never allow myself to just be happy.
Usually it’s chocolate-
Later it’ll be booze-
That’s what everyone tells me.
Just wait ‘til you taste the alcohol you like-
You’ll love it-
It will destroy you.
