Brick By Brick
Stumbling from a past that got me here
Calculating every move I make out of fear
Fear from being broke, Fear from being a failure
Been here so many times that faces seem familiar
A place where some know me and other's can't relate
A place that can have the strongest man chooses suicide as his fate.
A place where you guilty until proven innocent they trying hard to make charges stick
But I'm determined to rebuild myself Brick by brick.
Family done gave up on me I feel all hope is lost
I keep fighting this fight but I'm fighting a hopeless cause
My family tired of seeing me here but I'm fighting for yall
I hear the voice of my children saying we love that you fighting but you
fighting the wrong war.
The war you fighting won't guareentee I will see you tomorrow.
Cause you dead in the streets or cuff with in them chains.
Cause you choose to place us on the back burner and show love for your Gang
All we left with is empty promises that you''ll change.
far as they are concern I will always be a convict
But I'm determine to rebuild myself Brick by Brick
CO's try to talk to me and claim that they care
But I close them all out because I'm here and they there
See I wear this Orange suite while you rock the the Gold Shield
Say you understand but you go home still
As I sit in the cell I begin to think what he was saying was real
I lay on my bunk as my thoughts become thick
I begin to think nah this can't be it
I am Somebody I do have a purpose
and I wont let them forget
I will make it out this system though brick by brick.
