A Brighter Day

Growing up wasn't so easy, divorced parents aren't the best

Constant fighting to switching off, you would think we needed some rest.

She's young they said, do you think she holds stuff in?

Try to get me to talk, I doubt that you'd even win.

Drumming and music came along, I was good at it too

Even though things went on at home, I still managed to pull through.

When I didn't want to be around at home, I stayed to drum

This went on till highschool, it made me feel less numb.

Then college came around, no time for that anymore

More problems have been happening, without music life is a bore.

No more drumming for me now, my life feels like it was slipping away

Now I ask who am I, I'm the girl who's searching for a brighter day.
