A Brighter Light
Sunshine gleams upon the forsaken sands.
As we move toward that ever glowing light,
Darkness yet abides by time.
Death encloses all nearing the end, work of noble note
May yet to be done, not unbecoming men may stride upon God.
Lights shine—
Come, my friends, onward.
The sail sets toward the setting sun and rising stars,
As we depart to the newer world.
Faced beyond ever desire.
These dark entities overcrowding clarity
Bask in the moonlit nights,
Which bloom upon the darkest of days
This unwitting mariner yearns to depict.
Spirits turn beyond knowing as one ray strikes sky,
Piercing,
Shining.
Much has been taken, yet given: those—
That disperse the earth and the heavens,
Beyond eternal silence,
Take darkness, beyond,
Shine yet a more beautiful light.
