The Brightest Darkness

Is it my Charcoal Skin tone?

Or the Patois in my Lingo?

Or the reflection in the mirror with a strong libido?

That makes me not attracted to society’s evil?

Or keeps me from fitting in with all these people?

Yeah! I love y’all though we all basically equal,

Glad to say things make me a bit unusual,

Like my big luscious lips and wide open nostrils,

That could smell underground and find the oldest fossils,

I mean it’s okay to follow and be another apostle,

But I’ll stick to being me that’s my only gospel,

While you’re your own hostage living so hostile,

In a crowd of statistics who bump and jostle,

I’ll be me at peace living colossal,
