broken

She tries to fake a smile She’s become a master of disguise Empty and heartless, There’s nothing in her eyes She’s just a shell Of nothing Wishing to escape this hell Of lost hopes Broken dreams Unachieved goals Falling short of the finish line One too many times Has left her broken Too weak to pick up the pieces She sits there in silence Realizing this is her moment To walk away Start fresh The scars have healed The pain she’s endured Still lies on her shoulders The burden of never being perfect Will destroy her These wounds they will not heal They say time heals all wounds They lied Why am I still hurting?
