broken

she sits with her head in her hands

the tears stream down her face as an ocean with a mind of its own

she can't control them, she cant hide

she's held it in so long

they flow

he tells her its okay, its good,

so why was he never there when it wasnt?

why was she left alone facing her demons,

when all she wanted was a supportive arm,

something to lean on.

yet she knew she never could,

she didnt want to push another over

even though she longed with all her heart

for a better world to go to

where others didnt shove daggers in her soul,

and push her down every time she rose

when she was growing up, her parents told her there was no such thing as love,

that its not beautiful or a dream, or something to hope for.

so she vowed never to lose her heart, never to love,

and so never love is what she does.

maybe its why she's alone now,

she lost her childhood when she was young,

and she can never get it back until this world has passed,

until she has gone somewhere more peaceful.

she'd take her life to see the one person who helped her through,

but she knows she'd never make it there.

she's been betrayed, hurt, burned,

and so never love is what she does.
