Broken

Someone once told me that

if I tried hard enough,

that I could be happy.

But they were wrong.

I feel like something so

broken inside,

that cannot be healed.

Nothing is what it was

promised to be.

I’m sitting here, missing you,

begging, sobbing for

you to come back but

you left me behind

and never looked back.

Why won’t you just look back

one more time?

Why did you have to leave me so soon?

Why are you gone?

Please, please, come back

because I’m not sure what I am

without you.

Shards of broken glass

that I set upon myself.

Something so broken that

I don’t even know who I am anymore.

Just please come back

and tell me that you love me

one more time.

Because I don’t know

what I am

without you.
