Broken

The ring of his laughter caressed my splintered heart.

I can’t help but to stumble after the blissful sound to

catch a fleeting strand of his earthy scent.

The scorching image of his betrayal slams and sets my crippled heart ablaze

Salty tears cloud my vision and threaten to spill

The sting of my nails biting into my skin act only to

provide a short lived escape of undeniable reality.
