Broken

Darkness, blackness,

utter death.

haunt your soul,

steal your breath.

Drag you down,

to bitter days.

Let you burn,

In Hades's blaze

I find myself,

On a crooked path.

I trudge forward,

Feeling Elohim’s wrath.

The trees are bent,

Offering their black fruit.

I shake my head,

I stand resolute.

Yet as I go on,

I start to crumble.

They don’t give up,

My feet start to stumble.

I fall on my knees,

I can’t stand strong.

The demons rise,

And start their song.

Darkness, blackness,

utter death.

haunt your soul,

steal your breath.

Drag you down,

to bitter days.

Let you burn,

In Hades's blaze.

Around my body,

Their chains grip me.

I struggle and claw,

I cannot break free.

They hold the fruit,

Wave it in my eyes.

My heart pulls at me,

Give in to your demise.

With great remorse,

I end my fight.

I open my mouth,

And take a bite.

The deed is done,

They howl with glee.

I’ve done it again,

And they say to me,

Darkness, blackness,

utter death.

haunt your soul,

steal your breath.

Drag you down,

to bitter days.

Let you burn,

In Hades's blaze.

As they dance around,

In a frenzied fright.

I see a flash,

Is it a light?

The demons see it,

They know His power.

Their knees knock and sway,

They run and cower.

A man comes to me,

Pulls off my chains.

He touches me,

Strength flows in my veins.

The demons claw at me,

Try to pull me apart.

“He cannot love you,

You rebelled from the start”

Darkness, blackness,

utter death.

haunt your soul,

steal your breath.

Drag you down,

to bitter days.

Let you burn,

In Hades's blaze.

With a wave of his hand,

He silenced the swine.

“I have always loved you,

You were always mine.”

“You have gone astray,

Yet now I call you back.

Come and follow me,

Get your life back on track.”

We leave the dark road,

Leave the crooked trees.

The demons bow to him,

They sink to their knees.

A different song arises,

A lovely mellow in my ear.

It is He that sings it,

This is what I hear.

Brightness, lightness,

Eternal life.

Let go your pain,

Ease your strife.

Bask in righteousness,

Bask in my love.

Know me, the Creator,

Your help from above.
