Broken

Dear Former Boyfriend,

It was not me,

It was you.

Though we said those three words,

They were only empty.

We fought and fought,

Until there was no more fight.

We both said things we “did not mean”,

But we meant them.

I cried and screamed,

You laughed and taunted.

You planned those schemes,

And left me haunted.

I have no more tears for you,

I shouldn't have from the start.

Now I am happier,

Since we're apart.

Sincerely,

          Taylor Wait
