Broken

Broken

That is

A small piece of the original whole

I fall deep into the void

I stand tall

I held fire,

Flickering in the moonlight

The flame rose, high into the dark sky

Illuminating the lost world below

All shadows gone,

All cares and misdeeds shown

All because

I held fire

Flickering in the moonlight

This world is broken

A shadow of the greatness we once were

Now, cares are hidden

Misdeeds forgiven

Shadows greater than the light

I held fire

Flickering in the moonlight

Someday, we may find

The glue, the tape, the fixer upper

Was right in front of us,

I held fire

Flickering in the moonlight

I held it high above my head,

Illuminating the world

Displaying the beauty, the cruelty, the awesomeness

Of the natural world

Someday, we may be one once again

Though that seems impossible

Perhaps if we work together

And show the people the true problems,

We will be as amazing as we once were

Maybe, all it will take is me

Holding Fire,

Flickering in the moonlight
