Broken

Falling to peices

I lie scattered across the floor

There's nothing left

I'm crushed and broken

Just clutter on a perfect day

A fall leaf crushed underfoot

Withered and wet

Fresh wings struggle to open

The parched pages stare

Every surface drenched in their tears

Blank books lie face down

Broken dreams

Bring more than a simple frown

Thoughts spat out

Leave the head a carcus of want

The fringes flutter in a distant wind

A snow of small white circles swirl in the emptiness

Consumed by a once roaring flame

Magnifed by the fright

Of one night long ago

A broken heart

Left untouched

Crunched and chewed

I've destroyed their lives

The potential wasted

A hasty time

Sour grapefruit

Left among the limes
