Broken Airplane

They say I’m silly

in a tone that suggests silly actually means stupid.

You’re silly.

But, they don’t understand

how my heart constantly navigates me to 53.204533, -105.76460

or how the pilot in my head knows not to listen to my heart,

but sometimes she just can’t help it.

They don’t understand

that I am an airplane trying desperately to fly

or how I can only crash so many times

before everything is broken and I fall apart.

You’re silly.

No, I’m broken.
