Broken Angel

The water is rushing down the side of your collar,

I can’t breathe anymore and I can’t see straight.

I’m just fighting the emptiness inside; it’s oh so frightening,

Am I bleeding for all the right reasons?

Or am I caught in the storm you bring me too,

Capturing my attention and throwing me for a loop,

You’re like an addiction I can’t stop; I wanna bite my tongue and bleed.

A burden of mine to try and hide,

A bottomless bottle and scars to revel in,

I’m just another failure to you.

I will always try to make you as proud as can be,

Yet still I fail to see just how far I go.

Am I at the end or is this the start of my new horizon?

I am the fire inside my own soul,

You’ve never let me burn so much brighter,

The counter to the world I wanna face,

I’ll let you know just what I want you too, leaving without a trace

Tangled in the hell of disease,

My veins are open to the euphoria you give,

Seething in the feeling you bring

Bring me back to the world I was living in before
