Broken Bond

I still remember her goodbye, I felt like a child torn from her blanket. I looked in my best friend’s eyes as my minivan Ripped the bond we said would last forever. She was gone, but the tears weren’t. I tried to not look back, But I had to see those eyes one last time. Those eyes that have laughed and cried with mine. Two years many not seem like a lot, But for an Army Brat; we make the best of the time we have. The pain of separation still eats away at my heart. My only hope is heaven. One day our broken bond will be reunited.
