Broken Bones

bones, bones, bones

they break and crack like stones

brittle and weak yet strong to hold life together

we climb trees, mountains, and rocks just to fall

the world is one giant bone that is broken

the only way to get better again and to move

is if we stop and heal. leave it alone and let it grow

give love and sign the casts like the boy in school

who broke his leg doing a pop shuv it to impress some girl

Bones take weeks and even months to heal

as winter passes, spring comes, summer is on the way, and fall is around the corner

bones adapt and become stronger if we give it the care it needs

to protect ourselves from a broken bone; one must know recklessness

is the first way to go down and hit a stone

troublesome it is, and hard to resist

broken bones lead to pain

the pain that we cannot move

if we make it worse and not careful where we tread

the one broken bone could end it all
