Broken Bridge
A better world across the bridge seems like it's not too far away
But I try to cross the bridge and it it seems like it's too weak and frayed
I think if I try to cross this bridge, it will break and I will fall to my death
So I remain trapped on the other side in a world that's becoming a mess
Some people will say this bridge is safe to cross but that is not easy to see
I want what life cannot give me, I just want a guarantee
I really want to cross this bridge but it doesn't look all that safe
This bridge looks old and worn and it has seen better days
Nobody is going to walk on this bridge before me to tell me it is safe to pass on through
I could ask many peoople but the will tell me that is all up to you
I could try to cross the bridge but I will not be given the luxary of a parachute
If I fall there will be no failsafe or a lifeline and there will be nothing I can do
For now this side seems safe but the ground beneath me is starting to decay
It will soon cave in underneath me, if I keep continuing to wait
I know I will have to cross this bridge soon, even though it is falling apart
I just can't afford to get on this bridge and suffer any more false starts
Nobody is going to walk on this bridge to repair it, if there is a chance they won't come back
If I beg someone to repair this bridge for me, they will just have a good laugh
It's only up to me to cross this bridge, even though it is daunting and scary
There are just no safer and easier paths to the other side that are avialable to me
I just need to summon the strength to somehow cross over this Broken Bridge
I just hope when I walk on it, the boards underneath me don't start to give
I know I will soon have to cross over what seems to be a Broken Bridge
If I ever want something more for myslf and a better life to live
