The Broken Child

Her smile was so lovely, you wouldn’t believe it was fake,

But the pressure to be perfect was just too much for her to take.

Behind her happy act, she was extremely sad,

She held onto any hope with everything she had.

Waking up every morning, was something she dread,

She realized the only way out, was to drop dead.

Nobody noticed her sudden silence, they didn’t notice her at all,

She finally gave up, deeper and deeper into depression she let herself fall.

Not a day had went by, and people started talking,

They looked around puzzled, as they kept on walking.

She was finally popular, something she had wanted all along,

She was finally noticed, but only after she was gone.

They should have seen it coming, she was crying for help all along,

But all they did was make it easier for her to move on.
