Broken Family
A jigsaw puzzle with missing pieces,
A bird with broken wings,
A sailboat with no sail, or
A bird that never sings.
That is my family.
We are missing something.
I have a mom, who would do anything for me,
and two little brothers who are too young to understand.
But I have no dad.
No one to read me a story or tuck me in at night,
No one to toss the football or wait up while I go on my first date.
He is the missing piece.
All I've ever wanted was to be like other kids,
Have all the pieces put together, but it wasn't for me.
We may have something missing, but we are still a family.
