Broken Fence

Keeping a barbed wire fence around our hearts,

Trying to decide between legit and fake,

Never being able to read minds,

Only finding heartbreak.

Love can be patient and love can be kind.

Love can be mistaken for other things,

things that can put you in a bind.

Love, if it's true, is like the stars,

always there, even when you may not see them.

Despite the bright fights that may occur,

the dark cloak of love always covers two people,

if it's true.

Love makes two flowers,

Not one.

Love makes rain

seem swell.

Love makes tears

into grins.

Being awkwardly partnered together in class,

Accidentally emailing the wrong person,

Working at the same place;

Meeting your favorite person in the world

knocks over those barbed wire fences.
