The Broken Girl

I am never here

My mind and body?
Well -
they've been separate since my freshman year
When I found my crutch for my hurt and pain
I flicked the lighter hoping in vain
That the thoughts would help me float instead of drowning in my shame
I am drifting
I am conflicted
and most certainly
I am
addicted
I am not one of those people who say this for the attention
I am a person who knows I'll never reach perfection
I am . . .
I am . . .
I am . . .
Broken
