broken glass
The glass sits perfectly
Seems to never move
But inside the glass
Away from the shine
Is a collection of dust
It's cleaned and cleaned
But it's always collecting
The cup sometimes
Rolls into water
Hoping to feel whole
Because underneath
The caked gray powder
Seemed to be million tiny cracks
Cracks the cup
Wished weren't there
But each time he tries
To clean the dust
Crack
‘No no no’
Ting
‘Stop’
Outside roared to life in the sky
Pretty decorative lights fell
The cup gazed in awe
Going outside the cup collected water
Overflowing the glass seemed to cry
The cracks because worse
As a ribbon from the sky
Fell in top
The poor cup shattered
‘I'm fine!’
His pieces laid on the grass
‘I wasn't used, nor fixed’
The rain water fell off
The broken pieces faster
‘I didn't belong in the cabinet anyways’
He sighed as more lights fell
‘Never was there from the beginning was I?’
The cup gave up letting the broken pieces
Lay down and weep
